Rother Shopping Survey

A HOUSEHOLD survey has been commissioned by Rother council to provide information on where Rother's residents shop and what they think about Bexhill, Battle and Rye town centres.

It is part of the council's evidence-gathering for a new 20-year planning strategy for the district.

A press statement this week said it the survey is designed to help the authority plan to meet the shopping needs of residents and ensure that Rother's town centres are vibrant places.

The survey will be conducted by telephone over the next couple of weeks.

Council principal planning officer, David Marlow, said: "This needs to be a large survey to properly reflect different circumstances across the district and I would ask anyone who may be contacted to contribute to the survey.

"I would assure people that no personal financial information will be sought and that the responses are processed by an independent research company such that individual data is not identifiable."

The results will be published in the new year.
