If you want to start the weekend off on a musical note then head towards the Robertsbridge Club this evening where you can hear the band `Under the Covers` play. They came first in the Hastings and St. Leonard’s Music Awards and are a band not to be missed. As usual members entry is Free with non-members and guests just £3.00

Saturday May 4 is the Village Market between 10am – 12 noon. There are many stalls to buy your homemade produce for the weekend. With bread, cheese, vegetables, eggs, cakes, pet foods and many other stalls. You can then relax and have a coffee and a chat with friends.

• At Robertsbridge Club on Sunday 5th May you can spend a relaxing, hopefully sunny afternoon listening to solo singer from London, Laura Betts. Again non-members free entry and non-members and guest just £3.00. There will be food available during the afternoon.

Then to finish off the Bank Holiday Sunday there will be the Open Pairs Knockout Darts Competition at the Club during the evening.

• Friday May 10 is the next Robertsbridge and District Archaeological Society meeting at Robertsbridge Hall starting at 7.30pm. Geoffrey Mead • Saturday May 11 the Robertsbridge Guides, Brownies and Rainbows will be holding a Jumble Sale at the Church Room in Fair Lane between 10am – 12 noon. Any donated items or offers of help will be much appreciated. Please contact Jane on 880619 or Jo on 880872.

• During the evening of May 11 the Robertsbridge Twinning Association is holding a Barn Dance at Robertsbridge Hall starting at 7.30pm.Live music will be by The Spinning Jenny. There will be a licensed bar and food available. Tickets are £8.00 for members, £10.00 for non- members, and under 16s are free. Tickets can be bought from the Floral Boutique, The Ostrich, The Post Officer and Busters.

• Also Saturday evening of the 11rh you can attend `An Evening of Gardening` at Salehurst Primary School. This includes an illustrated talk by Edward Flint, Gardeners Question Time with Helen Yemm and also a plant sale. There will also be a raffle and refreshments available. Entrance fee is £6.00, and £5.00 for seniors. Tickets are on sale from the Floral Boutique, Belle Flowers and Judges Bakery. All proceeds are to go to the ongoing repairs to St Mary’s Church, Salehurst.

• Coming up at the end of the month is the Robertsbridge Bonfire Society Auction of Promises. This is on Friday 24th and is being held at Robertsbridge Club. This is one of the big fundraisers of the year to enable the Society to put on the great event in November.
