Review: Speakers Corner, Saturday, August 15, De La Warr Pavilion
Bee Keeper Angie Biltcliffe brought in a small glass fronted observation hive and an assortment of products from the bees she keeps on an organic apple orchard near Broad Oak. She spoke passionately about the experience of keeping bees and about some of the things she has learned through working with them.
Joseph Beuys, showing in the Pavilion's galleries, believed that bees came close to a perfect community and that human society could learn a lot from them. People were certainly full of questions for Angie and there may even be a few new bee keepers in Bexhill as a result.
