Property Show

Getting buyers and sellers together was the idea behind the Property Show at the Cooden Beach Hotel.

This was a Property Cafe showcase aimed at getting together people interested in property, whether searching for a new home, finding a mortage, or looking at the best way to sell.

The event was the idea of Property Cafe owners Scott White and Darran Cohen.

Scott said: "This has been absolutely fantastic. We have had people from all over the place - a lot of them interested in the Cooden Heights development nearby.

"This has been our first event - and it is the first, hopefully, of many. We have made it fun as well - there is a bouncy castle outside, and face painting for the children, and teas and coffees.

"We have sent out 3,000 invitations during the week to vendors and buyers who are registered with us.

"We had the idea about two or three years ago - before we even opened the Property Cafe. This was something we envisaged, but we have been so busy we didn't have the chance to do it. Now it is something to stir the market up a little, getting together buyers and sellers in the same room at the same time, and hopefully a couple of those will stick.

"This will be the first of many - we will definitely be holding one in the summer if this is anything to go buy. It has taken a lot of organisation but it is definitely worth it. I think people like the informal approach. They can wander in, and there is no pressure, they can sit at a table and take their time - which is the whole feeling in our office."

Scott and Darran wanted to thank their staff for the effort they made in turning the event into a success - Ben Williams, Melanie Knapp, Kathy Hoath, Jackie Houlihan, Matt Davis, Sue Hammond, Laura Fermor, and Susan Demuth.
