POOL ALMOST READY

WORK on refurbishing Ringmer swimming pool is complete. There will be an official re-launch on March 4 but it should be open before then.

The pool tank has been completely re-lined and sealed in blue, making it more attractive in appearance.

The windows and rear doors have been replaced in white PVC, the changing rooms completely revamped and re-tiled, and finishing touches are being made to the new disabled facilities, reception and viewing areas.

New lockers are to be installed and the small cardio-vascular fitness room will also be ready. Installation of the new air handling system has been re-scheduled for the summer to complete the 130,000 investment in the centre.

Manager Ian Cooper said: 'We have been looking forward to this for a while and I know the Ringmer community won't be disappointed when they see the changes that have been made.'

The pool is in the process of being re-filled and re-heated.

Freedom Leisure staff will be on site from Monday to answer calls or to show people around. It is hoped the pool will be warm enough for swimming.
