Pett Parish Council: Following the resignations of two parish councillors last month, both the Chair and the Vice-Chair have also resigned. The Council can continue with the remaining three councillors but there are now what are known as Casual Vacancies. A notice to this effect has appeared in the September edition of Pett Parish News and any one interested in serving as a Councillor can obtain further details from [email protected].

Pett WI: There was a good turnout for the first summer BBQ, held on Wednesday August 17. The food was organised by the Committee and cooked to perfection by Phil and Eve Button, who also supplied the meat. The lovely summer weather meant that most of the evening was spent outside and the feedback from members was extremely positive.

Church Services: Church Services on Sunday August 28 – Holy Communion, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am. There will be a Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

Village Voices: On Monday August 29 the Village Choir will meet at Pett Methodist Chapel at 7:30pm.

Pett Older People’s Project: POPP on Tuesday August 30 will enjoy Brian Howard Entertains. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:00pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Changes at St Nicholas: Have you been to visit St Nicholas, Pett Level recently? 
You will find the church open every day. 
There are free tea and coffee-making facilities and a lending library, as well as a display of information and publicity.

Many people are taking a look around the church and signing the visitors’ book as a result. If you haven’t been inside yet, have a look! There are also beach treasure hunt cards available for children.
