Peterhouse retirement complex

PETERHOUSE retirement complex in Church Road, Bexhill held an open coffee morning last Friday.

People from the local community were invited to meet residents, look around the grounds and it's facilities and share delicious home-made cakes and scones courtesy of resident chef Debbie Reynolds.

With 70 full-time residents Peterhouse is owned and run by the charity NABS (National Advertising Benevolent Society). It offers people and relatives from the advertising/media industry, 'truly independent living in a lively and friendly community.'

General Manager Lesley Crisford described Peterhouse as, " a very special place; there is sheltered housing and a care wing. People can come and live here through different stages of their lives and not have to move on."

One resident enjoying the coffee morning was 92 year old Gladys Frith. She moved to Peterhouse last year and said that she had a lovely flat within the complex and was very happy living there.

Her advice for longevity is to, " have a bit of a laugh - if you can laugh you can get away with anything."
