A suspected unexploded ordnance shell was found in Camber yesterday (Sunday, January 17).

In a tweet, Rother Police said the device was spotted in a field.

The Explosive Ordnance disposal team was called to the scene and assessed the situation.

Rother Police said the device was found in a remote field away from the public.

The item was left in situ and a controlled explosion was then safely carried out, police said.
