People head to Bognor beach on hottest day

On what was believed to be the hottest day of the year so far, people headed for the beach in Bognor today (Wednesday, May 20).

Photographer Neil Cooper sent in these pictures he took at the beach, showing people enjoying the sun, whilst trying to adhere to the social distancing rules.

Meanwhile, West Wittering Estate announced today that the beach will reopen next Wednesday (May 27) but will limit the number of vehicles able to park on the site. Read more here

Elsewhere in the county, the car parks in Camber had to be closed after visitors flocked to the beach to enjoy the warm weather.
