Hastings Beavers and Cubs say ‘Thank You’ to care workers and NHS

On a ‘regular’ Thursday evening, the 17th Hastings (Robsack Wood) Beavers and Cubs would meet for  fun programmes of activities at The Robsack Centre in Bodiam Drive in St. Leonards on Sea.

Thursday the 23rd of April was very different though!

At 8pm the Beavers and Cubs donned their uniforms to renew their Promise as well as ‘Clap for our Carers’.

It was St. Georges Day and of course St. George is the patron saint of Scouting. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the traditional St Georges day parade had been cancelled (Scouting members usually renew promises at the parade)

Some members of the 17th have also been participating in the fundraising ‘Hike to the Moon’ activity organised by the Scout Association to raise money for the Children in Need/Comic Relief appeal taking place during the current lockdown.

The young people and leaders were keen to say a massive THANK YOU to the N.H.S and keyworkers both locally and all over the world, while also recognising St. Georges day.

The Leaders are all very proud of the Beavers and Cubs for taking part.

The 17th Hastings (Robsack Wood) Scout Group has some spaces for young people to join. Beavers and Cubs meetings will resume once the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. Meetings usually take place on Thursdays during term time at The Robsack Centre on Bodiam Drive in St. Leonards on Sea.

A Scout section will hopefully be starting soon too.

If you have a young person interested in joining the 17th Hastings, please contact: Mr. Shaun Kemp (Skip -Beaver Leader) on 07511 611731 Or alternatively email [email protected]
