Peasmarsh

East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre have a Mobile unit visiting Peasmarsh on Thursday July 17. It will be in Jempson’s car park from 10.30am until 3.30pm and will provide free information and advice on many things including demonstrations of assistive equipment - amplified phones, loop systems, alarm clocks and smoke alarms. Also available will be free hearing screening tests, friendly and constructive advice on all aspects of hearing loss plus hearing aid maintenance and battery service. Sounds like an excellent service, if you have any hearing difficulties it would be well worth a visit!

We have come to the end of our first year of Monday Lunch Club. On June 30 we said goodbye and thank you to the boys from Hastings College who have been cooking and serving our lunches since last October as they came to the end of their course. We have not only enjoyed their food, we have enjoyed getting to know them, and it is good to know that this arrangement not only benefits us, but is useful to them as well.

So that we do not have to go too long before the new term starts in September Steve Slade who has been bringing the boys will continue to offer lunches – roughly every other week. The next one will be on Monday July 14 and details of the menu can be found on the Hall website (www.peasmarshmh.org.uk ) You can also find details of other lunches on offer during July and August. Please call Jenny Als on 230324 by Friday evening if possible to book a meal.

The Friends of Peasmarsh Parish Church will be holding their Annual General Meeting at the church at 6.30pm on Friday July 25. The “Friends” exist to raise funds for the maintenance and improvement of our ancient and beautiful church and its surroundings. Details of how to join can be found in the church.

Both the 8am and 10am services will be at Beckley church this Sunday.
