SATURDAY CHARITY MARKET: Tomorrow the market will be run by Peacehaven Players.

COFFEE MORNINGS: Coffee mornings are back on every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

COMMUNITY CAFE: Now open six mornings, in the foyer, Community House, Meridian Centre. Tea, coffee, egg, bacon, sausage sandwiches and cooked breakfasts available. Run by local charities. Monday and Wednesday morning the community café is organised by Sussex Pet Rescue.

KNOW DEMENTIA: Memory Moments Café. Everyone welcome, especially those with memory problems and their family supporter. Every Friday from 10am to 1pm, Anzac Room, Community House, Meridian Centre.

CINEMA: The next film at Peacehaven cinema will be La La Land on Wednesday at 7.30pm, Main Hall, Community House. Tickets £5 from the Information Office.

WRESTLING: The next wrestling event will take place on the Saturday April 1 at 7.30pm.

TASKFORCE: Peacehaven Taskforce is a volunteer group that generously give their free time to help tidy the town. On Sunday there is a cliff top and undercliff walk litter pick. Meeting at Howard Park for a 10.30am start. Please come along and join in, gloves, bags and litter pickers will be provided.

DEANS SENIOR TEA CLUB: The Deans Senior Tea Club provides free, weekly, social tea clubs with a mission to combat loneliness and isolation in older age. We run clubs in Telescombe, Kemp Town, Salt dean, Seaford and in January we launched our Peacehaven club in the Meridian Centre. It runs every Monday, 2pm to 4pm.

PEACEHAVEN WI: The first ploughman’s lunch of this year was enjoyed before the meeting, after which President, June Garland, welcomed members and one visitor. Details of the menu for our birthday party in May were given out for consideration, final choices to be handed in next month.

Our afternoon speaker, David Bramwell, called his talk No 9 Bus to Utopia, but it was not a journey by bus as might have been expected. He decided to take a year travelling, spending a month in several different countries, including Denmark, Italy and the USA and told us about the most unusual times he experienced. However, he began to feel homesick for Brighton and this culminated in his return and subsequent meeting many friends by, in one instance, placing a chair outside his house and encouraging neighbours to sit and chat. His final message was that we should all make friends and maybe have a street party. We’ll think about it.
