I AM SURE I speak for everyone in Rose Green, Aldwick Street, West Meads and Craigwell in thanking Aldwick Parish Council for their magnificent effort in decorating our area for the Diamond Jubilee.

The red, white and blue decorations adorning the shops have given the area that much-needed boost in spirits that is so badly needed in these times of double-dip recession and world instability.

This is my 40th year in business in Rose Green and I cannot remember another occasion that has been so well celebrated across Aldwick’s shopping area.

I hope that in this Diamond Jubilee year, Euro 2012 and the London 2012 Olympics everyone will be uplifted and remember a little of what is great about our country that is so often either taken for granted or moaned about.

The past 40 years working in Rose Green has obviously been a huge part of my life and I, along with Roger who has worked with me for 37 years, would like to take this opportunity of saying a huge thank you to everyone of our customers, residents and fellow shop keepers for making it a memorable and happy time.

Here’s hoping the next decade is half as enjoyable!
