Thanks for support

FRIENDS of Bersted Green Surgery held their annual Christmas bazaar at the Jubilee Hall, Chalcraft Lane, on Saturday, December 10, and raised a total of £485.35.

I would like to thank the following who helped to make the bazaar a successful event:

All the patients who kindly donated goodies, raffle and tombola prizes for this event, everyone who displayed a poster either in their window or on a poster board in their garden, all the local shops in Bersted, especially the florists and newsagents, Morrisons and Wilkinson, Dorothy Hickey for sorting everything out so all we had to do was arrange the goods on the relevant stalls, the surgery staff and friends who made the delicious cakes, Anne and Val who manned the cake stall, and to Shirley and Sheila who were in the kitchen making endless cups of tea and coffee during the afternoon.

For the rest of my wonderful committee and their friends who manned the stalls: Valerie and Pauline who sold the raffle tickets, Valerie and Dorothy who obtained the raffle prizes totalling 22 in all, Shirley and Stan on jigsaws, toys and games, Marian and Dorothy who manned our Christmas stall, Brenda, Edith and Pam who ran the tombola, Wendy and Lesley who were in charge of books, DVDs and CDs, and lastly myself running the bric-a-brac stall.

We were all on our knees by the end of the day and our grateful thanks to everyone who made the bazaar a successful event and helped us to raise such a good amount for the surgery equipment fund.

This group has been running now for over 11 years and has raised over £15,000.

We are a small committee and everyone deserves a big pat on the back.
