Road safety is as important here

I agree with Mr Richard Tilden Smith when he says (Observer 23rd May) that the government should not finance road development in a piecemeal fashion, for unfortunately that is exactly what happened with the Bexhill/Hastings Link Road. I understand that it is hoped (I stress hoped) that additional funding may be found from some other source, but this will take time and the completion of the link road therefore delayed.

As for the northern end of the A 21 (Tonbridge etc.) I appreciate the need for improvements there, but as these will enable more heavy traffic to head more speedily this way, where we already have a high accident rate (yet another fatality last week ) it is essential that the danger spots hereabouts are dealt with first.

Richard Tilden Smith may not approve of this, but road safety here is as important as it is anywhere else.
