Ridiculous plan

At the risk of going over old ground, I wonder how often Paul Dendle visits Littlehampton Swimming and Sports Centre?

He says it is ‘not fit for purpose’ (Gazette, June 19), but I go there regularly and it is a lovely pool.

Other people use the gym and other facilities and seem happy enough. Would moving the swimming pool really encourage obese people to take more exercise? I doubt it.

This is just a cynical ploy to build on previously unbuilt land and realise the much greater asset of a seafront site for development.

I walk every day in Mewsbrook Park and along the beach. Has anyone considered how the residents of the (no doubt) luxury flats will feel about the odour of sewage wafting across from the sewage pumping plant next door?

I urge Arun District Council to re-think this ridiculous plan. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
