I had my own UFO sighting in 1990s

I was just reading your article from April regarding a UFO sighting in Hastings.

Many years ago (approximately 1995-97) we used to go fishing at the Wylands farm fishery in Battle for a week every summer.

One year I was night fishing and we saw a UFO over the woods by the lake about 3am.

I was fishing next to a lad called Michael who worked there, we were both aged about 17 and he woke up when I had a fish in the night.

My line had tangled around the rod tip.

As I looked up at the rod tip in the moonlight, I saw a bright green glowing sphere stationary above the woods.

It was strange as we did not even question what it was but just observed it for a minute or two.

After a while it shot off at a speed so fast straight into space that it left a trail.

However, there was no sound at all. Afterwards we went back to sleep without even discussing it.

Strangely enough, I had no recollection of seeing it the next day until some guys from Bromley who were fishing further down said ‘did you see that last night?’.

‘What?’ I replied. ‘The green light over the woods’. I then recalled what had happened the night before.

When my father picked us up at the end of the week, I told him and needless to say he didn’t believe me.

However, at the time my parents had a holiday flat near Alexandra Park and about a week later he was down there and picked up a local paper saying ‘UFO spotted over Battle’.

I think my story had a bit more credibility after that!
