HS1 should stop at Rye

Reading the article regarding the fight for HS1 trains to stop at Rye, I agree with Stuart Harland wholeheartedly that it would indeed be terrible to see high speed trains whipping through Rye. Rye should grab this wonderful opportunity improve her transport infrastructure which will help to bring economic growth to the town. I understand the concern of people who believe that a high speed train may cause Rye to become a commuter town. This would risk the very nature and character of the town which attracts so many visitors from all over. However, Rye would still be a long way to travel from London on a daily basis making it unlikely that Rye could ever become a commuter town.
