The absence of enforcement of the parking regulations means that shop and office workers, as well as residents, park in the shopping streets all day and every day, to the extent that it is well-nigh impossible to find a parking space much after 8am, and it is often necessary to spend 15-30 minutes searching for a space.

Apart from local residents trying to shop in the town, in the course of my business I meet many new visitors thinking of moving here, and much as they love our town they invariably express dismay about the difficulty of parking. How much longer can we allow this problem to continue before our shopping centres decline to the point of no return?
