Honour and privilege

AFTER watching Sports Personality of the year on Sunday evening, it brought my thoughts to Tyrone Wildman, who sadly passed away last Saturday.

He would have been a perfect contender.

After playing cricket with him for more than two decades there were never any cross words.

He had time for everyone, young and old. That great smile was there even when he was bowling and got hit for six. He would smile and you still got the same smile when he bowled you out.

Some of our up-and-coming players would do well to take a leaf out of this great man’s book, whether it is for playing sport or life in general.

Myself and my family were privileged to know him and play cricket along side this legend.

All our thoughts go out to Kathy, family and loved ones.

Goodbye my friend and thanks for all the great times.

It was an honour and a privilege.
