May I thank Mr Lynott for his letter of support for more transparency of church finances.

What really brought this problem home to me was reading an article where senior figures in the Church of England / Anglican Church said that if the government removed its tax advantages it would be immediately bankrupt. Who runs a business spending over 1 billion pounds a year and relies for survival on the very people who reject its message and never attend on a Sunday?

Mike, I don’t expect an answer from local churches. I have been at some churches AGMs and many local church leaders know I research things before speaking or putting pen to paper.

How would they defend what even their own members, many friends of mine for some years, say is wrong?
