LETTERS: This excellent level of care

Late on the evening of December 29, I was taken very ill at my home. Paramedics responded swiftly to my husband's 999 call and were able to take me very quickly to the much maligned Eastbourne DGH. I had to be heavily sedated and put on a ventilator for 36 hours while doctors tried to diagnose and treat my condition appropriately. I was looked after extremely well by all of the staff on the intensive care unit, Berwick Ward and the Michelham Unit (lucky free upgrade!) and I am very grateful for their hard work over the New Year in caring for me and all of the other patients who were unfortunate enough to spend this time of year in hospital. It is very reassuring to know the DGH can provide an excellent level of care should the worst happen.
