This Saturday is the day to solve your problems – at The Byre House and in the Village Hall there will be plants on sale from our expert plants(wo)men in the village.

The Horticultural Society missed out on their Spring Show, thanks to Spring holding fire, so they are holding a coffee morning and plant sale in the Village Hall between 10am and 12.30pm, also on Saturday. There will be a range of plants on offer, including perennials, annuals, herbs, vegetables and some garden sundries.

You should be able to fill most of the gaps in your garden by visiting both sales, who will be pleased to have your support.

Christian Aid week runs from May 12 to 18, so please be generous when you get the red envelope through the door, as money goes to fight poverty and injustice worldwide.

If you have any items to donate to the latest fundraising pickup for Chitiwiri, they need to be taken to the Post Office before Tuesday May 14. Clothes, shoes, belts, handbags, towels or soft toys are all very welcome, and should be put in a black bin liner and handed in at the Post Office. The Happy Bag Company will exchange these items for a cheque for Starfish Malawi, and the money will be used exclusively to benefit the children of Chitiwiri.
