Badminton clubs meet in the Pretious Sports Hall every Friday at 5.30pm (Juniors) 6.30pm (Secondary) and 8pm (adults). It’s the end of the season, but a good time to have a practice or learn the game. And with the weather as it is, a good way to keep fit without having to worry about the rain!

The Conservation Society’s AGM will be in the Village Hall at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Find out about the Society over a complimentary glass of wine and you may feel the urge to join! Membership is just £2 per person to be part of a movement to conserve and improve our village.

At the Blue Cross Centre, you are invited to Paws for Tea on Saturday 11am until 3pm. A tea-party for all, with delicious cakes, plants, books, bric-a-brac and lots of cat and dog supplies.

Northiam Bonfire Society’s Treasure Hunt leaves the surgery car park at 11am on Sunday where a general briefing and the clues will be issued. The start will be a staggered and the Hunt is expected to take between two to four hours to complete depending on the logical and lateral thinking of the members of each team. A prize will be awarded to the team that wins the Treasure Hunt, at the final destination. Entry is £10 per car - £7.50 if booked in advance, so call Geoff on 01797 252152 to book your place, as numbers are limited. There will be a mixture of driving and walking.

On Monday, Northiam Friendly Bridge Club meets in the Jenkins Room at 2pm. Badminton is in the Pretious Sports hall at 5.45pm and open to anyone who would like to have a go, Classical Pilates is in the Village Hall at 6.30pm and Zumba in the Pretious Sports hall at 8.15pm. The Budgerigar Society meets in the Jenkins Room at 7pm, when Ron Pearce, a well respected champion exhibitor from Middlesex will visit.

The Over 60s will be finding out who is the Brain of the Over 60s on Tuesday at 2pm in the Village Hall.

Tuesday marks the First Night for Calendar Girls, Beckley Players’ latest production.

Calendar Girls runs from Tuesday May 21 to Saturday May 25 at Beckley Village Centre, 7.30pm, tickets £7 from the box office, tel.01797 260232.

Pilates classes are at 9am and 10am in the Village Hall on Wednesdays, and Coffee Stop meets in the Church Centre between 10am and 12 noon, with all-comers invited to pause for a cuppa and a chat.

It’s Thursday Seniors’ AGM at the meeting this Thursday in the Village Hall.

The Rye and District Association of the National Trust are having a walk based in Sandhurst this week, meeting at 10.30am near Johnson’s shop on Thursday for two circular walks; 4 miles in the morning and three miles in the afternoon with lunch at the Swan.Please contact Phil Maynard on 01797 260637 or email [email protected] for more details and to register your interest in this walk.
