Northbrook cooks up a success

CATERING students from Northbrook College cooked their way to success at a national exhibition.

A total of eight students, who are studying at the college's West Durrington campus, travelled to Bournemouth to take part in the event and walked away with five medals and three certificates of merit.

Abigail Solomon, Timothy Bacon, Wilson Mak, Christopher Upton, Jeanette Squire, Rebecca Heasman, Lauren Pothercary and Joseph Crouch competed in five categories of the Wessex Salon Culinaire.

They were tested on bakery, patisserie and knife skills as well as their abilities to make hot starters and a static display of a restaurant lay-up.
