New taste of Italy

A NEW Italian restaurant is due to open in Uckfield High Street on Wednesday. Called Simply Italian it is part of a group run by brothers born in Naples but who grew up in Hastings and Bexhill.

Restaurants have been a part of their lives for many years for their father Mario Venditto has run The Italian Way restaurants in both those towns for 25 years.

The brothers Luca and Marc worked with their father when they were younger but then went their own ways coming together to form their own business in 2000.

Their first restaurant was opened in Eastbourne and they have expanded since then into Rochester, Rye, Battle and Hove. The Uckfield restaurant - in the former Di Marco premises - is the next to open and following on from that one is due to open at Tenterton in March or April.

Mr Venditto said they offered casual dining in a family oriented environment and specialised in a range of authentic regional specialities, freshly-made pizzas, traditional pasta dishes and seasonal daily specials.
