Much of what was brought but not taken by visitors was delivered to charity shops – 75% was reused, and a further 15% recycled.

Visitors made donations which are used to cover the cost of renting the room for the event.

Since the events started, nearly 2,700kg of items have been taken by visitors, and over 600kg has gone to charity shops, helping people save money and avoiding unused items ending up in landfill.

The next event is on Saturday September 6 at St Mary’s Centre in Rye.
