Mountfield Horticultural Society will be organising a coach trip to the RHS Wisley Gardens on Sunday 8th July, anyone interested in going should contact Celia Morris 01580 880458.

This year’s Summer Show will take place on Saturday, 30th July. There are some new classes this year for Soft Fruit, Novice Flower Arranging, and baking for men only The Photograph classes are “Woodland”, “Gardener’s Friend” and “In the Sky”. Schedules will be available nearer the time.

This year Mrs. Celia Morris hands over the Hon. Secretary’s reins to Sue Kennedy, but Celia will still remain on the Committee as Social Secretary and will continue to organise the annual garden visits in the summer. Celia has been on the Committee and Hon. Sec. for a great many years and we are grateful for her continued presence on the committee as her wealth of knowledge is much needed.

The Society also says a big thank you to Mr. Dave Levett who is retiring as Hon. Treasurer and from the Committee after many years, the new Hon. Treasurer is Mrs. Deidre Weekes.

Vivian who lives in Hoath Hill has asked me to include details of a cat which has been visiting her home for the last six weeks or so. She has asked people living nearby but nobody seems to know where he is from. The cat in question is tabby with white paws and a white flash under his chin. If you are the owner or know who is, please could you let Vivian know on 880533.
