Motorcyclist seriously injured in Eastbourne crash

Police have launched an investigation after a motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital following an accident in Eastbourne at the weekend.

A car and a motorbike collided at the junction of Upper Dukes Drive and Baslow Road on Saturday afternoon (March 20), according to police.

The incident took place at 3.55pm. The car involved was a red Nissan Almera and the motorcycle was a silver Kawasaki ZX600.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A police spokesperson said, “The motor cyclist suffered serious, possibly life-changing injuries and was airlifted to hospital. A stretch of Upper Duke Drive was closed for several hours.

“Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or have dash cam, CCTV or doorbell footage.”
