Mayor officially opens Age Concern charity shop

TOWN MAYOR Patrick Douart cut the red ribbon to set the seal, and officially open the newly refurbished Age Concern charity shop in St Leonards Road, on Friday.

Shop Manager Judy Jeff said that both she and assistant manageress Margaret Keesing, along with their group of dedicated volunteers, are delighted to be back in business adding: "We are looking forward to welcoming back all our customers."

The shop, which has re-opened after having been closed for two months following water damage, is full of bargains as Cllr Douart discovered.

He said: "Where else can you buy clothes from as little as 1? You just can't go wrong."

Judy said they welcome all donations but unfortunately cannot accept electrical goods.

In addition the shop continues to offer a free information and advice service every Monday morning 10am-1pm.
