Martial arts day at Bexhill Amateur Athletic club

Anyone interested in learning martial arts or checking out different teachers has the opportunity to do so at Bexhill Amateur Athletic club.

An open day will be held on November 30 at the sports centre on Little Common Road to give beginners or enthusiasts the chance to try out different disciplines, gather information, or just come and watch.

The day begins at 10.00am with the gentle approach of Tai Chi, led by Gwyneth Ludkln, which is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.

This is followed by Jiu-Jitsu with expert Matt Stevens who is a black belt in Chinese Kung Fu and Sanda Kickboxing, and is an instructor in Wadan Tai Chi as well as a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

At 12midday there will be a session by the Bexhill Judo team followed by lunchbreak.

The afternoon disciplines start at 1.30pm with Aikido by 6th Dan Paul Barker, and Shotokan Karate by Ian Hollidge, who is a 3rd Dan. The final open day demonstration of Kodokan Goshin-Jutsu will be led by Jason Meek, who is 2nd Dan Judo and 3rd Kyu Aikido.

The event is for adults only and will cost 10 for those who pre-book or 15 on the day, for all day, with each session lasting 55 minutes.
