Making the news at Slindon College

Four lucky students from Slindon College became tv news readers for the day.

The contingent and their headteacher, Ian Graham, attended the opening of a new recording studio.

The event saw them read the news on a specially-designed studio and to broadcast on radio. They also edited news footage.

Peter Saysell-Roates (15) said: "It was a brilliant day and we found everything fascinating."

The students were invited to the high-definition recording studio at Bournemouth University because of their college's interest in media and film studies.

The studio was officially opened by actor Martin Clunes. ITN presenter Mark Austin also spoke.
