Littlehampton library closed for four weeks

BOOKWORMS will have to go without Littlehampton library over Christmas.

The Maltravers Road facility will close yesterday (Friday, December 1) for four weeks, while self-service machines are installed.

West Sussex County Council’s deputy leader, Lionel Barnard, who oversees the library service, said the new self-service terminals were an easy and efficient method to borrow items, and could be used by everyone.

“You will be able to print a list of what you have borrowed, check when an item is due for return, and even make any cash payments,” he said, adding that library staff would still be on hand to help.

Residents can borrow up to 20 items before the temporary closure, or use other nearby branches including Rustington or East Preston.

The library will reopen at 10am on January 3.
