Little Common road safety work starts Monday

WORK to improve road safety for pedestrians in Little Common is due to get under way on Monday.

East Sussex County Council will work for three weeks to implement the scheme, which will include improvements to the junction of Cooden Sea Road and Birkdale. This will involve installing new kerbs, re-surfacing the footway, installation of tactile paving at crossing points and new easy access bus stop kerbs.

Workman will also be making some investigatory trial holes up to the junction with Little Common Road in preparation for the installation of new puffin crossings planned for next year.

Works at the junction of Cooden Sea Road and Birk Dale will be conducted using temporary three way lights. The trial holes will be undertaken using temporary two way lights.

Access for residents may be limited during working hours 7.30am to 5pm. During this time access should be arranged locally with the site manager or supervisor.
