Lining Up For Jubilee

LARGE crowds flocked to Fletcher's Field, Angmering, for a bumper afternoon of entertainment as the village celebrated the Queen's golden jubilee.

Members of Angmering Social Club were joined by other village organisations to stage the jubilee f te and fun day on Monday.

And the stalls, funfair rides, beer tent and hog roast were busy with customers for more than four hours of festivities.

There were races and sports for children and adults, and a penalty shoot-out competition to warm up for those World Cup spot-kicks let's hope England don't need them!

Supporters of the royal family could test themselves, too, with a quiz about the Queen.

Groups taking part, as well as the social club, included Angmering WI, the Angmering Society, Guides and Brownies, village playgroups and St Margaret's Church curate the Rev Matthew Payne, organiser of the royal quiz.

St Margaret's, Angmering Baptist Church and the village Cubs and Scouts and Brownies and Guides together organised a golden jubilee thanksgiving service at Fletcher's Field on Sunday afternoon, which attracted a congregation of around 300 people.
