Leaflets on recycling

Leaflets are being distributed to some 5,000 homes in Bognor Regis to encourage residents to recycle in five languages.

The publicity material in English, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish and Portuguese is the last phase of an Arun District Council campaign to reduce household waste.

The leaflets are intended to get the green message to usually hard to reach households in flats, bedsites and among the diverse ethnic communities.

Funded by 71,000 of government backing, the campaign has also featured bin stickers and roadshows.

Cllr Paul Wotherspoon, in charge of the council's environment policies, said: 'Our recycling rates are good in Arun but we must not be complacent. We need to recycle more and more.'
