Lauren zips into charity challenge

CHAMPION fundraiser Lauren Gander is about to launch herself into another charity challenge - quite literally.

The 11-year-old (pictured) will be flying down a zip wire from the Newport Transporter Bridge in Wales on July 10.

It is 50 metres high and Lauren will travel a distance of 320 metres at 25mph, landing in the park.

She is looking for sponsorship for the event which she is doing for Bexhill charity Tree Of Hope, which helps provide specialist treatment for children.

Lauren on Saturday attended the Armed Forces Day Parade in Egerton Park, where she was able to find backing for the challenge and she is hoping to boost the £75,000 she has raised so far for different causes.

She recently raised £3,000 by leading a go-kart race in Cambridge which lasted for 16 hours and at the end of which she handed out awards at midnight.
