It's all go for night of festivities

An evening of Christmas festivities takes place in Rose Green next week.

The special occasion on Wednesday, December 19, will focus on the six metre high Christmas tree installed close to the Nyetimber Lane/Gossamer Lane traffic lights outside the Co-operative store.

Sponsorship has been provided by the store and the Southern Co-operative Group.

The tree has been installed by Aldwick Parish Council to brighten up the parish's largest shopping area.

Everyone is invited to join in traditional carols around the tree from 6.30pm.

Children should assemble at 6.15pm at the top of the Rose Green Road one-way system at its junction with Hewarts Lane.

Prizes will be awarded in a children's Christmas fancy dress competition. Father Christmas is scheduled to appear with his illuminated sleigh. Many of the parish's youth groups will also attend.

Shops will be opening late that evening with special offers and festive fair to tempt customers.
