Iden Players had a get-together in the Village Hall on Tuesday, when we had a slide show of the lovely pictures which Rod Stewart very kindly took of our Pantomime “Robin Hood”.

Cheques of £100 each were presented to the three charities: Iden Goat Sanctuary, Friends of Iden Church and the Village Hall which were all gratefully received.

At this point I would like to thank Iden villagers for their generosity with raffle prizes which made this possible.

I would also like to say how pleased we are that Bob and Deb Hammond chose to move to Iden and take up the challenge of finding Iden’s Hidden Talents !! Roll on next year. Watch this space.

This appreciation comes from Teresa Parsons.

There will be a coffee morning tomorrow, May 11 from 10am to 12noon in the village hall. There will be books, a raffle, cakes and bric-a-brac. *The Mobile Library will be at the village hall on Monday from 12.05 to 12.45. More importantly, perhaps, is the Coffee Morning from 11 am to 1.30 pm in the village hall. The banner will be displayed outside the village hall in good time to advertise both the Library and the Coffee Morning.

The Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Iden Church will be on Thursday May 16 at 3pm in the Old Hall, Church Lane, followed by refreshments.

We hope that some folk from Iden will come to Playden for the exhibition of Arts and Crafts on Saturday and Sunday, open Saturday from 10.30am to 5pm, and Sunday from 12.30 to 4pm. And there are people who would especially enjoy the Concert on Saturday evening at 7.30pm with Ken Roberts, called Music Around the World in 80 Minutes. Tickets are £10 to include a glass of wine and canapés in the interval. Ring me on 10797 22 26 15 to book a ticket.

The mid-week services continue on Wednesday at 9.30am for Morning Prayer and 3.30pm for Evening Prayer.

The 9.30am service for the Sunday after Ascension Day will be Parish Communion led by the Vicar.
