A grand total of 285 was raised for Sussex Air Ambulance by dedicated society member's, who avidly support this vital service.

Sussex Air Ambulance is based at Dunsford Park near Cranleigh and was finally launched in June last year, after two years of fund-raising.

At the time of the launch Chief Executive of the Sussex Air Ambulance, David Philpott said: "I am delighted that we have been able to launch a dedicated Air Ambulance for the benefit of the people of Sussex. It has only been with their considerable support that we have been able to bring this emergency service into operation which will help save the lives of critically injured people in the county."

The day after the launch, the Air Ambulance, which flies with an experienced pilot, doctor and critical care paramedic carried it's first patient, a woman in her twenties who had to be cut free from her car, treated at the scene for her injuries, then flown to hospital in just ten minutes.
