Half term vandals strike

TEENAGE vandals brought their own brand of madness to Worthing during half term week.

Within hours of schools closing their doors for the holiday, a small number of trouble-makers with nothing better to do had struck in the town, causing heartache to residents and thousands of pounds worth of damage.

A gang of teenage boys went on a night of destruction on Sunday, when they broke into The Lido on Worthing seafront and splattered green paint all over the walls, two arsonists set light to a beach hut on Monday and phone boxes, windows and a bus shelter were smashed to pieces.

Two teenagers have been arrested for the beach hut fire.

More on this in this week's Herald.
