Gunpowder plot is re-told

With the bonfire season underway in the Rye and Battle area Tim McDonald tells the amazing story of the Gunpowder Plot at the Shipwreck Museum Hastings on Saturday 1st November at 7pm.

The evening will delve behind the scenes of England’s most famous conspiracy to uncover what really happened, and led to the events which are celebrated on November 5.

The story has the classic ingredients of intrigue, betrayal, espionage and murder. Who was really behind the plot?

What was Guy Fawkes’s role? Who wrote the mysterious letter giving away the plot to the authorities? And – most curiously – why was it planned for 5th November?

Tickets are £6 to include a glass of wine.
