Former Worthing school site sold for £2million

THE former Highdown special school site in Durrington Lane, Worthing, is set to be sold to a housing association for £2million.

A West Sussex County Council officers' report is recommending to the cabinet members involved that the 2.42-acre site be sold to Saxon Weald Homes Ltd for a development of 63 homes.

At least 53 will be affordable housing units, of which 35 will be extra care units. The remainder will be "open market" housing.
