The briefings have been sponsored by National Careers Service and are taking place at The View Hotel. More than 200 visitors are expected with 1,800 14 to 16 year old students already coming with their schools, and parents bringing their children whose schools haven’t booked. There will be more than 100 exhibitors include employers from a wide range of industries, trainers, colleges and universities.

Alistair Barron, one of the event organisers, said, “The briefings included informative guidance on the responsibilities schools have for providing careers advice and engagement with employers and explained how the show fulfils many of the Ofsted mandated requirements.

“They emphasised how attending the show will benefit students and help schools towards future investors in careers assessments.”

Those attending the briefings were given a preview of the student preparation packs and lesson plans that have been created especially for the show.

Alistair said he feels this will give students the opportunity to get the best out of their visit to the show and take away everything they need to make decision about their futures. Parents of year nine and 11 students are welcome to visit for free with or without their children. Visit
