Fears for missing Durrington mother

POLICE have renewed their appeal for information about the whereabouts of a missing Durrington woman.

Gill Bhatt, 50, vanished from her Shelby Road home almost five months ago and has not been seen or heard from since.

In the weeks following her disappearance, police traced activity in her bank account to cash points in cities in the north of England and Scotland.

But in December this abruptly stopped and she has not withdrawn any money since, prompting fresh concerns from police.

Detective inspector Rob Walker, of Worthing police, said: "We are concerned about Gillian's welfare.

"We believe she has connections in both Blackpool and Carlisle. She had stayed in hotels and used cashpoint machines.

"Then, suddenly, there were no more withdrawals from her accounts.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who knows her or has any information.

"I would like to appeal to Gillian directly. If you are worried, we can discuss your concerns. I would welcome a call from you."

Gill's husband, Kenny, and three sons, Jamie, 24, Danny, 22, and Ricky, 18, have been left devastated and said it is totally out of character.

Anyone with information should contact Worthing police on 0845 6070999.
