Eastbourne council elections 2019: Here are the candidates if you live in Devonshire

Voters go to the polls on Thursday May 2 to elect 27 members to Eastbourne council.

Ten candidates are contesting the three seats in Devonshire and here is what you need to know about them.

Margaret was first elected to Eastbourne Borough Council in June 2004. She is currently the cabinet portfolio holder for tourism and enterprise and former portfolio holder for community Margaret has lived in Devonshire for the last 40 years. SUS-191204-203339001
Vivienne has lived and worked in Eastbourne all of her life and for the last 10 years in the Old Town area. She works in the retail trade and employed in the town centre and has also had her own business. SUS-190416-191810001
Danny says that after growing up in London, living by the sea was always a lifes ambition He is now a local business owner in Eastbourne and living nearby for three years. SUS-190416-192029001
Steve was first elected in May 2015 and is the current cabinet member for finance. Steve is also the business development manager for the Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce, supporting new businesses as well as organising many events around the area including Chinese New Year, Eastbourne Carnival, Neon Noel and the Christmas markets. Helen is a Labour supporter born and bred. She moved to Eastbourne 16 years ago and has worked in the community for the last 10 years and is part of the Eastbourne Strategic Partnership representing the volunteer sector Helen has worked as a marketing manager for local companies in Eastbourne and set up her own charitable marketing company Helen Owen Marketing Owen Enterprises CIC, where the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people are helped with free training and work experience opportunities. Danielle is Eastbourne born and bred with four generations of her family living in the town. She works in the NHS as a sister at the DGH. SUS-190416-194957001
Geraldine moved to Eastbourne in January 2017 and is Labour Womens officer, a member of Unite, group treasurer, branch equalities officer and vice chair of Co-op East Sussex Branch. She is campaigning for more fairness, more equality and community. SUS-190416-195456001
Louis moved to Eastbourne aged seven and attended Ratton School. He has worked and volunteered in international development, including teaching reproductive health, employment skills and working at a water and health charity in Africa and Asia. SUS-190416-195820001
Steve was first elected to Eastbourne Borough Council in May 2006. He has been the Devonshire county councillor since May 2013. Steve serves as chair of the Driving Devonshire Forward group, overseeing recent investment in the area. Steve was born and raised in Eastbourne, as were generations of his family.
