EAST Preston’s own Olympic torch burns brightly

EAST Preston’s very own Olympic torch has now taken pride of place in one of the village pubs.

The Tudor Tavern gave a £100 donation to festival funds in exchange for the superb replica of the torches currently being used to carry the Olympic Flame on its journey around the UK. It was made by Steve Hodgson, who runs a vehicle restoration and engineering business in the village. The torch was carried in Saturday’s carnival procession, together with a diamond jubilee baton made by another villager, John Cosier.
