Dozens of carsticketed at Rye
More than 70 drivers were handed tickets for parking violations during a blitz in Rye this week.
Rye Mayor Bernardine Fiddimore said: “Apparently the main response to the officers was ‘Haven’t you got anything better to do’?
“Vast numbers of drivers feel they can flout the rules and park absolutely anywhere they wish. “Valuable officer time has to be spent catching them out. Rye can expect more ‘stings’ and eventually the message will get through. Enforcement is happening in our town - but you can never be sure of when or where.”
