Police appeal after group attacked in Brighton city centre

Police say they are appealing for witnesses to an assault on several men and women, aged 18 to 35, who were attacked in North Street, Brighton on Friday, December 15.

A police statement says that the victims were in the area of Burger King when the assault by a group of young women took place between 0.30am and 1.10am.

Detective Constable Thomas Duffy, investigating, said: “I am keen to speak with anyone who was approached by these women or assaulted while outside or near to Burger King that morning.”

A 21-year-old woman from Hove was arrested on suspicion of assault and later released under investigation.

Also arrested on suspicion of assault and of possessing cannabis was a 28-year-old man of no fixed address. He was released under investigation but then re-arrested as being wanted on recall to prison.
