Eastbourne murder victim named

The woman murdered at a house in Eastbourne at the weekend has been named locally.

Jackie Hoadley was found with serious injuries at her home in Broad Oak Close, off Rotherfield Avenue, on Sunday afternoon.

She was declared dead at the scene.

The mother of two children, who both have brain damage and severe disabilities, Mrs Hoadley was a disability rights champion and last year went to Parliament with the then Eastbourne MP Stephen Lloyd.

A 62-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

The major crime squad is investigating the murder.
